The meeting seemed to be driven by the objective of improving healthcare because all the present individuals were from caregivers’ organization. During the meeting, Penelope Kokkinides addressed the need for improving the healthcare services in Puerto Rico. One of the challenges she mentioned that the country encountered in the health sector was lack of enough funding from the government. She noted that the funding had drastically reduced since the year 2011. With a drop of more than $1 billion, it was evident why the health sector is not performing very well. To improve the healthcare system in Puerto Rico, she asserted that increase the funding was the right move to take.
